General Saddlery: Frequently Asked Questions
Saddle strings are leather ties on a western saddle used to tie on gear like a jacket, rope or saddle bags. They wear over time, so it is worth keeping a spare set.
A wither strap is a short strap across the front of the saddle that the rider can hold for balance. It is popular with barrel racers and young riders.
Our rope halters are tied, not buckled, so you adjust them at the knot. Each product page lists the sizes and colours available.
