Kayla McAuley

From dreaming of being a cowgirl as a little girl, to now chasing rodeo dreams alongside her family, Kayla McAuley’s journey is built on grit, determination and heart.

As soon as she was old enough to work, Kayla saved every dollar she could to buy herself a horse the beginning of a journey that would shape her life forever. At 17, she met her best friend and together they hit the rodeo road, chasing the lifestyle they both loved.

Kayla found success early on in the Ladies Barrel Race, placing on multiple occasions before transitioning her horse into the sport of Steer Undecorating. In their very first year competing in the event, the pair qualified for the 2025 ABCRA National Finals – a huge achievement and a testament to the hard work behind the scenes.

She also has an exciting young barrel horse coming through the ranks, and after only five months on the rodeo road together, they’ve already made incredible progress.

For Kayla and her family, rodeo is more than just competition it’s a way of life. You’ll find them in the practice pen almost daily, making memories together while the kids enjoy competing in the Under 8’s Barrel Race sometimes even taking home more prize money than mum and dad 🤣

Kayla’s advice for the younger generation:
“Stay humble and outwork everybody. Cowboys are built by hard days, not easy wins.”
